These two literary-minded festivals will take place concurrently, right across the street from each other, before uniting in the evening for a talk from Yaa Gyasi, whose 2016 novel Homegoing was one of the year’s best. Expect other big-name authors, readings, and more from Dallas’ burgeoning literary community at the book festival at the library. Meanwhile, at city hall, speakers from around the country discuss how innovations in a number of fields—education, the arts, health—can help improve our city.
